Congratulation to Clairey Hewiit & Joanne Kennedy
Is there anything better than opening your letterbox and finding a letter or a parcel addressed to you? Like a proper letter I mean, not a bill or a reminder or a bundle of junk mail.
I find it sad that email and text often replace this age old gesture as apart from the fact that I find emails just so impersonal - I also personally suck at responding to emails and texts. I find that I read them on the run and therefore I probably don't enjoy or appreciate the message as much as I would if I was sitting down and opening it the old fashioned way.
When I am the one sending the letter, then I tend to make a little ritual of it. I gather my supplies - a warm cuppa or glass of wine, a fancy pen and a chunk of time to just sit and think about what it is I would like to say to the person I am writing to.
I also like to choose a card or paper that is personal and relevant to the message I am sending and often when a card or message I receive really speaks to me, I put it on my notice board or in a frame so I can see it all the time.
Call me sentimental, but I have a box of letters and special cards given to me by friends and family over the years and every now and then I love to sit quietly and read through them.
Nicky Lark - Owner of Customary, recently sent me a beautiful package via snail mail and it contained a bunch of her stunning cards. Some of these will soon be on their way to loved ones and special friends, and some of them are going straight into frames for my office wall cause just looking at them makes ME happy.
These cards and envelopes designed by Nicky are 100% recycled and printed locally in Australia using vegetable based ink & sustainable practices. They reflect a feeling of love and respect which has a beautiful symmetry with Nicky's beliefs about how we should view and treat our world and each other.
In conjunction with Down That Little Lane and Customary, I am giving away 2 mixed packs of 10 gorgeous Customary Cards to 2 lucky winners.
All you need to do is leave me a comment telling me in 25 words or less;
Who you would send one of these stunning cards to and why?
Then follow the prompts in the Rafflecopter widget below and 2 winners will be chosen next weekend.
The competition is open now and closes 11.59pm AEST 08/06/14
Open to Australian Residents only sorry
